What your distributor can see on the Distiqo network — and what it can't

On the Distiqo network, a shop using the Retailer OS and a distributor using the Distribution OS can work together: the shop orders, the distributor bills, and the bill turns into the shop's stock. That only works if both sides trust what the other can see. Here is the full list.

Linking is by agreement

A distributor can invite a shop, or a shop can ask to connect to a distributor. Nothing is shared until the link is accepted. A shop sees nothing from a distributor's books until the distributor confirms it really is their customer.

What a shop sees from its distributor

• The distributor's catalogue: names, codes, the price for this shop, and schemes. Never the distributor's stock, cost or margin.
• Only the bills issued to this shop, and its own balance.
• Its own message thread with that distributor.

What a distributor sees from a shop

• Orders the shop places with them — which arrive as drafts the distributor reviews before billing.
• Payments and messages the shop sends to them.
• If the shop shares it: how the distributor's own products are selling in that shop, and how much is on the shelf.

A shop can switch that sharing off for any distributor, at any time, from its settings.

What never crosses

• A shop's customers, or who owes it money.
• Its other suppliers, or what it buys from them.
• Its selling prices, margins, cash or profit.
• Products the distributor didn't supply.

“What's selling near you”

The Retailer OS can show what's moving in shops in your area. It is built from many shops together, and a product appears only when at least five shops sell it — so no one shop's figures can be picked out. It never shows another shop's name, quantities, prices or customers.

Inside your own business

The same care applies to your staff. You choose each person's role, and a cashier who can bill can't open profit, ledgers or GST unless you allow it. Our servers enforce this, not just the menu.
